The restaurant is not located in the pedestrian zone or on the beach promenade – and that’s a good thing!
It’s on a side street, away from all the hustle and bustle.
The moment you arrive, you immediately feel the calm and the warmth of the staff and the owner!

The fresh fish is absolutely top-notch, but the meat dishes and vegetarian options are also excellent!
We went there three times in four days, and it was absolutely outstanding every time!

The three of us spent a wonderful evening with superbly prepared food and extremely helpful, professional, and pleasant staff. The black risotto and the shrimp risotto were so delicious that they delighted even me, who is not a big seafood fan. The panna cotta dessert was truly the icing on the cake. We are definitely looking forward to coming again and recommend it!

A very good restaurant for seafood, fish, and similar dishes. Very good service and a pleasant atmosphere. We visited as a group of 8 people. I would recommend making a reservation in advance. It is somewhat more expensive, but still not to be missed. My recommendation!

When there is passion...

My husband and I found this gem during our one day trip to Malinska on a hot late august day. We had the most pleasant time thanks to the ambience, friendly and helpful waiter and of course, amazing food! The hospitality was top notch! It was as if we were in a starred Michelin restaurant! The waiter took very good care of us, was helping us choose our dishes, was supportive and we so much appreciated complementary teranino liqueur between courses! We had cold starters: an amazing ceviche, a mixed plate of cold seafood starters followed by squid ink risotto which was amazing, and the freshest grilled john dory. Each course was prepared and served with care and you could feel the passion and dedication of the chef through taste of the dishes!
Highly recommend and would definitely return! Cheers!

Our dinner at the Gatto Nero restaurant was simply unforgettable! We were warmly welcomed upon entering and immediately felt at ease. The ambiance was elegant, cozy and perfect for the evening.

The menu was diverse and creative, with high quality and fresh ingredients. Each course was a true work of art – both in taste and appearance. We must especially highlight the fresh fish and octopus that literally melted in the mouth. The recommended wine perfectly accompanied the meal!

The service was also top-notch: attentive, friendly, and unobtrusive. You can immediately feel that everyone here works with great passion – both in the kitchen and outside.

The right place for everyone who appreciates top-notch food and exceptional service. We will definitely be back again!

From the pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, to the friendly and professional staff, to the food prepared with top-quality ingredients with so much knowledge and attention... everything is an unforgettable experience. Homemade Mediterranean cuisine, but by no means ready-made. After the cheese ravioli with black tatuf and the "Padellata" buzara, we decided that we had to try everything. So, we will hang out often and regularly 😀

From gloomy Rijeka we escaped to sunny Malinska where a story for true gourmets begins. We enter the Trattoria Gatto Nero tavern where we are greeted by a pleasant atmosphere and helpful staff. At the very beginning we are welcomed by the house which is just the beginning of what awaits us. This is followed by a cream soup of asparagus and toasted bread. Then comes a cold appetizer called the fish dish "Gatto Nero" in which a real symphony of flavors is presented with the addition of lemon caviar which takes the story to the next level.

The main course is Adriatic squid stuffed with monkfish and shrimp, and ravioli stuffed with cheese with shrimp, sage and lemon. The rhapsody of flavors ends with pistachio cheesecake and white chocolate mousse with raspberry topping. Finally, a greeting from home comes to the table in the form of two brandies. In a word, a paradise for gourmets.

Excellent wine selection. Needless to say, the service is top-notch. The ambiance is also great. The prices, for what they're worth, are never expensive. Absolutely recommended

Best seafood I had in a while! Big reccomendation for the black squid risotto and tuna tartare, even tho everything tasted great those were out favourites. Everything was amazing, from the food, to the wine, to the service. The staff is lovely and ready to answer every question. We have never had an experience like this!! Last night we walked into Gatto Nero in Malinska, with the intention of trying their dishes, because the whole town is talking about that restaurant.... And the rest, pafff... from the first moment, the first step onto the terrace, a beautiful story. The displayed selection of fish gives us the right to immediately think of it as our choice, dentex, pizzas, fritters, smiths, hlap all fresh from the sea. But we still had dinner with steaks from the Istrian Bošakirn. Lamb prosciutto and a selection of cheeses were our choice for an appetizer. The steaks were perfectly cooked, and the homemade cheesecake at the end was like icing on the cake. The waitress Martina guided us perfectly through the entire dinner and I thank her for an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back again. Thank you.

A great selection of fish and other excellent dishes. The presentation of the food is outstanding. It is a slightly upscale restaurant, but the value for money is absolutely worth it. We visited at the end of May 2024, shortly after the opening, and everything was excellent! We will definitely come back.
