Since 1982, in a small, hidden alley, near the sea, we prepare our specialties exclusively with carefully selected local groceries (Istria and Kvarner), mostly from eco-farming! We are recognized by hospitality, warm atmosphere and excellent local cuisine.

Once you try our SEAFOOD DELICACIES (Kvarner bay scampi, squid and octopus, capesante and sea truffles, John Dory (San Pietro)...), BOSKARIN MEAT (steak, goulash, cheeks, gourmet burger), HOME MADE PASTA (ravioli, fuzi, pljukanci ...), SCRAMBLED EGGS with black or white truffles, you will understand that we want to make happy ALL OUR GUESTS, not just HEDONISTS smile

We are proud of the fact that we are certified by AZRRI to prepare delicacies from indigenous Istrian ox - far-sighted BOSKARIN! Lovers of SEAFOOD SPECIALTIES must try carpaccio and tartar from scampi, crabs, tuna, bass, sea truffles, boskarin, ...

Special care in our menu is devoted to VEGETARIANS and people sensitive to GLUTEN or other allergy ingredients in foods. Feel free to list all your wishes regarding GLUTEN FREE or foods you are sensitive to! We will do our best to satisfy you.

A FEW WORD ABOUT OUR KITCHEN AND VISION

At the place where fishermen, boar farmers (indigenous Istrian cattle), farmer and nature breeder cease, our idea and vision of excellent domestic food begins.

In Gatto Nero we try to combine tradition, original flavors and quality with creativity and thus create a new dimension of Istrian and coastal cuisine.

Local Istrian and Coastal Suppliers (0km) - Fishermen from Novigrad, Opatija and Rab, boskarin meat from Pazin and vegetable growers from Novigrad and Zrenja are our first and only choice, and we are recognized by all our guests looking for top quality.

We work pasta ourselves, hunt part of shellfish, seaweed and crabs.
