A tribute to Krk and Kvarner: A tavern where you can come for young lamb, freshly caught fish and black risotto - even out of season

Gatto Nero makes guests happy even when the hustle and bustle of the season subsides - with creative dishes made from local ingredients and fresh fish that comes straight from the fishing nets to the kitchen...

The tavern/trattoria Gatto Nero is the pride of Tanja Grbac and Marinko Tvrtković, who have been lucky to have a black cat since they renovated and redecorated the old space last year, and they haven't stopped since. They tirelessly come up with new surprises for their guests, and these days the trattoria has been smelling of young Pag lamb, Omišalj octopus and squid, as well as Lika veal, along with tuna prosciutto, risotto with sea asparagus (salicornia) and other house specialties. And when the lamb that arrived from Luno dies down in a few days, preparations for Women's Day follow, when Gatto Nero invites you to homemade šurlice with hlapa and gilthead sea bream fillet in žlahtina, which you can find out more about on their website.
